B&N Demos the Nook

Barnes & Noble expects to be offering live demonstrations of its Nook in its stores within a few weeks, according to industry insiders. The demos will be part of the overall in-store marketing campaign that B&N is planning for its new e-reader. The Nook has been out-of-stock for almost a week and consumers who order the book now will receive shipment beginning the week of January 4. B&N is devoting more resources to both manufacture the device and is hiring people to promote it. B&N CEO Steve Riggio said that demand for the Nook has far exceeded expectations. The retailer hopes curiosity about Nook will drive customers into its stores.
