Morgan James Title Becomes Hallmark Channel Movie

41623388True Crime Book Becomes Hallmark Channel Movie: Citizen Jane Stars Ally Sheedy, Meat Loaf Aday

What can an average person do when the police are unable to solve a crime that has shaken the foundation of their life?  For Jane Alexander, the answer was simple – do their job for them.  Following the 1983 murder of her aunt, Alexander, then 60 years old, became an amateur detective.  Keeping the case alive when the authorities showed little interest, not only did she spend years helping track down the murderer – her own boyfriend – she also helped find evidence, leading to an arrest and conviction.

Alexander’s remarkable tale became the basis for the 1999 book Citizen Jane, written by San Francisco novelist, journalist and screenwriter James Dalessandro.  A decade later, Dalessandro turned his book into a screenplay of the same name, which will air on Hallmark Channel Saturday, September 12.  The TV movie stars Brat Pak icon Ally Sheedy, rocker Meat Loaf Aday and Sean Patrick Flanery.

To coincide with the film, a special 10th anniversary edition of the book is being re-released into stores this September by Morgan James Publishing.  If you are interested in learning more about the film project, visit the Hallmark Channel site here.
